Des Moines is a small enough city to reflect the cozy feel of Iowa, but a city big enough to embody the culture and diversity of much larger cities!

Bike trails and alternative commuting options that get you where you need to be. Friendly faces in the skywalks and on the sidewalks. Fresh and local restarurants and coffee shops.

Rising early on a crisp autumn morning. Driving downtown. Watching the sunrise over 4th Street. Remembering a younger city. Taking a photo with my smartphone. Buying a cup of coffee. Picking up a newspaper. Being astonished by how fast we've grown. Walking into the office. Working with amazing people. Living in the moment. Feeling like I can do anything. Envisioning a future in Greater Des Moines.

The Iowa Culinary Institute at DMACC-Ankeny Campus offers 5-star meals at extremely reasonable costs. I love their French-style meals using local and regional products.

I love supporting our local theaters.

Trying all the samples at the Craft Beer Tent and meeting fellow beer lovers was my favorite part of the fair. I also love going to the Iowa Craft Brew Festival!
